Towing a trailer behind your bike while touring offers you more comfort and less hassles.  However, it also requires that you use common sense and obey a few simple rules because the trailer will affect the bikes performance.

The major effect will be on braking.  When you try to stop your bike the trailer will want to continue to roll forward.  YOUR BRAKING DISTANCE WILL BE LONGER.    Give yourself  extra stopping distance and, if road conditions are poor (eg. rain), then lengthen this distance even more.   Use the engine to slow you down and when you apply the brakes, do so smoothly.

The trailer will also affect cornering.  Remember your total vehicle length has increased so allow for that when making turns so the trailer doesn’t mount the curb.  In all cases, look ahead to upcoming corners and stops and plan for them so you don’t have to make emergency responses.  RIDE LESS AGGRESSIVELY WHEN TOWING.

Shipping to a commerical address (motorcycle shop, shipping company warehouse, etc.) is a lower cost than shipping to a private residence.
Of course, trailers may be picked up in Newmarket for no further cost.
